Scott Russell, DVM

Medical Director

Dr. Russell is a graduate of Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduating, Dr. Russell was offered a position at a veterinary hospital in Alabama and relocated to take that position. For the next six years, Dr. Russell worked for several veterinary practices in the area- gaining knowledge, experience and learning about the community. His dream and ultimate goal were to open his own veterinary clinic. It took several years of planning, designing and building – but that dream came to life when Deerfoot Animal Clinic opened its doors in March of 1999. Dr. Russell’s favorite part of the day is surgery- especially orthopedic repair procedures. He enjoys the challenges of diagnosing difficult cases and taking the time to talk and get to personally know his clients and their family. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking, home improvement projects, hunting and traveling.
